This practice provides full general and family medical services including patients in hospitals and nursing homes, and home visits when necessary. The emphasis is on preventative care with health screening and education a priority.

Antenatal Care

Antenatal care is offered by experienced General Practitioners.



Including all childhood immunisations (as per the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register standards). All adult immunisations including Hepatitis & Boosterix. The Flu Vaccine is provided free to ALL pregnant women, patients over 65 yrs, patients with indicated chronic diseases (NIVP recommendations) and to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, 15yrs and over, on an annual basis. Pneumovax is provided to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders 50 yrs & over, & those A & TSI patients, 15-49 yrs who meet the NHMRC recommendations. Pneumovax is also provided free to ALL Patients over 65yrs. Flu Vaccination Clinics are held every March and April. Travel Medicine immunisation requirements & advice given.


Surgical Procedures – (Under local anesthetic)

Cryotherapy of Warts & sunspots and removal of some skin lesions, cyst & moles. Local anaesthetic procedures for Skin Cancer, including local skin flaps & skin grafts. Circumcision & Vasectomy are also performed.


Family Planning

Women & men are welcome to discuss contraception with the doctors. We provide a range of services including fitting of IUDs, Implants, injections & vasectomy as above.


Women's Health

We run a recall system in conjunction with Douglass Hanly Moir Cervical Screening Program. You will be sent a recall notification when your next cervical smear is due. A mammogram is recommended for women 50 to 69 years. Health check for women 45 to 49 years of age is encouraged and this service is Bulk Billed. All information should be discussed with your doctor.


Men's Health

Routine health checks for men of all ages are encouraged. Sexual Health & Impotence Advice & Treatment is also available. Health checks for men 45 to 49 years of age are encouraged and this service is Bulk Billed.



Including rehabilitation & sports medicine.


Drug & Alcohol Services & Advice

Our GPs provide suppport and counselling, and referrals where required.


Psychological Service

We have 2 Visiting Psychologists, Dr Robyn Vines & Tandi Pickard, with regular sessions available.

Other Services Include Weight Loss Supervision & Advice, Indigenous Health, Pre-Operative Medical Examinations, Wound Care, Smoking Cessation help & advice, Blood Pressure Check, INR Monitoring, Spirometry, E.C.G, Nebuliser Therapy & Pathology Collection Service. We refer X-Ray & Ultrasound investigations and they are performed locally. This practice has 5 Registered Nurses on staff.


Private Medicals

Medical examinations for special purposes, e.g. Insurance, Taxi / Bus Driver, Pre-employment, Trotting Driver. These can be arranged through our reception staff and a fee will be charged at the appropriate rate. A longer appointment time will be required. Please advise our reception staff at the time of making your appointment if you require a Medical Examination.


Respiratory Health

Rhonda RN, is our Respiratory Health Nurse. Regular respiratory clinics are held on Wednesday afternoons for review of asthma and other respiratory conditions. Spirometry service is available on request. Your doctor will review the reading and provide any information & treatment required.


Diabetes Education

Regular review is encouraged for all diabetic patients. Rhonda RN also conducts regular diabetic review clinics. This is followed by a review with your doctor.


Aged Health Assessment

If you are over 75 years of age you are entitled to have an annual aged health assessment. This service is Bulk Billed.


Indigenous Health - "Closing the Gap"

Rhonda RN works collaboratively with the Chronic Disease Co-Ordinator , Alison Logan RN, and the Care Co-Ordinator, Ms. Donna Mullins, from Western Medicare Local to assist our Indigenous patients to overcome barriers in accessing primary health services.


Travel Medicine

We provide advice and an immunisation service to meet your travel needs. Please check your requirements with us 8 weeks before your departure. Drs John Sandra and Hal Rikard-Bell are authorised Yellow Fever Vaccinators.


Skin Clinic

Three Skin Clinics are held each month on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons and or Friday mornings. These visits are Bulk Billed. To make an appointment speak to our reception staff.
